A local police department has become almost unrecognizable over the past month.

The New Paltz Police Officers participated in American Cancer Society Fund Raiser, “No-Shave November” again this year, and if the photo is any indication, it was their most successful one yet.

This is actually the fifth year that the New Paltz Police Department team participated in the fundraiser, collecting $3,130 in donations for the American Cancer Society.

No-Shave November is celebrated by lots of people throughout the Hudson Valley as a fun way to raise awareness and funds to fight Cancer.  In New Paltz, the police department takes the campaign very seriously, with officers competing to bring in the most donations. This year Officer Duke Bunce raised the most in donations, single-handedly bringing in $1,270.

Other officers that participated in No Shave November were Sergeant Matt Sutton, Detective Joe Judge, Officer Eric Berhardsen, Officer Evan Redmond, Chief Joe Snyde and Officer Robert Sisco.
