The second-annual pet costume contest to benefit Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary has been scheduled for October 29.

Last year we saw some of the most adorable, creative and downright silly costumed pets the Hudson Valley had to offer. This year we're doing it again and everyone is invited to bring out their four-legged friends for free "trick-or-treating" and all sorts of fun.

What: The WPDH Pet Costume Contest to benefit Pet’s Alive Animal Sanctuary
Where: Petco on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie
When: October 29 from 11am to 2pm.
How: Just stop by. All animal participants in costume can compete in the contest and fill their trick-or-treat bags with all sorts of goodies.
Entry Fee? There is none! But participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary. A list of items needed by them are listed below. Cash donations are also welcome.

Last year's contest drew pets from all over the Hudson Valley with some very creative costumes.

The Boris & Robyn Show will be hosting the contest between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, October 29. You can bring you pet anytime during the event to parade in front of our panel of celebrity judges. Grand prizes will be announced for the winning costumes on Halloween morning during the Boris & Robyn Show.

There will be food and pet vendors, games and other activities for the whole family. Be sure to stay tuned to The Boris & Robyn Show on 101.5 WPDH for more details.

If you'd like to help the Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary please consider bringing a donation to the event. The sanctuary is in desperate need of pet food. Pedigree is the preferred brand for dog food and Friskies is the preferred brand for cats. Also paper towels, bleach, laundry detergent and even toilet tissue are all items that Pets Alive can use to help keep the operation running.
