You'd think it's an It Came From The Internet story, but it's not. In fact, it occurred right here, right in our own back yard.

According to Town of Fishkill Police, Judith Rankin, 52, has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, while her son, Brian, faces charges of third-degree grand larceny along with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The pair was arrested outside of Judith Rankin's job on Tuesday — Brian was "in a stolen vehicle, waiting for" his mother to come out of work, said Fishkill Sgt. John Berlingieri. The vehicle had been reported stolen a day before.

The car owner got a call from a friend who spotted it on Route 9 that day, police told the Poughkeepsie Journal.

We will continue to update this story as details become available.
