A half dozen people have been arrested after a sting by local authorities. Several Hudson Valley massage parlors were found to be in violation of state licensing requirements. 

The Kingston Times reports an undercover operation involving the Town of Ulster Police, state troopers and the URGENT task force found workers offering sexual favors to officers. Seven parlors were investigated, five were found to be breaking the law.

The arrested and locations are as follows, reported by a Town of Ulster Police press release:

  • Shan Su, 43, of Morton Boulevard Kingston, NY – Kingston Spa located on Morton Boulevard. Su was charged with the Misdemeanor of Prostitution and the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.
  • Yingyu Li, 61, Bowne St Flushing, NY – Spa Valhalla located on Ulster Avenue. Li was charged with the Misdemeanor of Prostitution and the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.
  • Zhao Mingxia, 45, of W 27th Street New York, NY – Blue Spa on Boices Lane. Mingxia was charged with the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.
  • Metzi Huang, 49, of 35th Avenue Flushing, NY – Day Spa on Ulster Avenue. Huang was charged with the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.
  • Choon Hez Kim, 42, of Bowne Street Flushing, NY – Day Spa on Ulster Avenue. Kim was charged with the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.
  • Pook Choi, 52, of Broadway Port Ewen, NY – Sunshine Spa Broadway Port Ewen. Choi was charged with the Misdemeanor of Prostitution and the Felony of Unauthorized Practice a Crime.

The release states the investigation into local prostitution began after numerous complaints were received. Efforts have been made to prevent these types of businesses from becoming ingrained in the community. Town codes will be reviewed in an effort to prevent future issues.
