A Hudson Valley man who was wanted in New Jersey on five warrants was arrested in New Paltz.

Around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, New Paltz police were flagged down by bystanders on Main Street in New Paltz for a reports of a intoxicated male. The man was identified as Joseph Boneillo, 29, of New Paltz. EMS was called to the scene. Boneillo was looked at by New Paltz Rescue and refused more treatment.

Police later discovered that Boneillo had five outstanding warrants from Bergen County in New Jersey. He was arrested and charged as a fugitive from New Jersey.

Boniello was arraigned in the Town of New Paltz Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Ulster County Court on Monday, Nov. 30 for extradition proceedings.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the New Paltz Police Department and New Paltz Rescue.
