At 9pm on Friday, a Hudson Valley native goes swimming with the "sharks" on ABC to see if he can get them to invest in his company.

Patrick Ambron grew up in Fishkill and attended John Jay High School. Now, he's the the co-founder of BrandYourself, a company that helps manage how your name appears in online searches.

According to The Poughkeepsie Journal, Ambron came up with the idea for his company after his partner couldn't get an internship after college because he happened to have the same name as a convicted criminal.

There are many companies that help clear up errors on web searches, but they can be very expensive. Ambron and his partner developed a service that is affordable to everyone, from wealthy CEOs to young graduates who are trying to get their first job.

Patrick Ambron was Student Council vice president at John Jay and was also the captain of the track and cross-country teams until he graduated in 2005. His father, Michael Ambron, still teaches at John Jay. Patrick went on to graduate from Syracuse University before founding BrandYourself.

We won't know if he struck a deal with the Sharks until March 20 at 9pm, but whatever the outcome, the exposure that BrandYourself expects to receive from being on the program will be priceless. Companies who appear on Shark Tank without even getting an offer for investment usually see an incredible increase in sales within 24 hours after the show airs.

Just this past Friday, an entrepreneur turned down a deal for one million dollars in exchange for just 5% of his company. Instead he struck a licensing and equity deal with Mark Cuban and Daymond John that values his company at $13 million.
