A Hudson Valley man who was convicted of sending lewd photos to lure a child for sexual activity will serve shock therapy jail time.

On March 14, Roshan Samuel, 33, of Tarrytown was convicted by a Westchester County jury on two counts of 1st-degree dissemination indecent material to minors, class D felonies.

In October of 2014, Samuel engaged in sexual conversations with a 14-year-old girl at Alexander Hamilton High School. Samuel believed the girl was 16-year-old, officials say

Samuel sent the child text messages describing sexual acts and inviting her to engage in sexual activity.

During that time period, Samuel arrived at the high school parking lot. Surveillance video from the school shows the girl enter and exit Samuel’s vehicle. No physical contact is believed to have taken place.

Shortly after their meeting, Sameul sent photos of his genital with explicit messages to the girl, indicating he want to have sex with her.

The girl’s mother soon contacted the school. Police were notified and the school was able to find video of Samuel and the victim meeting. Text message screenshots were supplied by the victim.

In Westchester County Court, Samuel’s was sentenced to five months shock probation at the Westchester County Jail.

Upon his released, Samuel’s will serve four years’ probation, under sex offender conditions. Which will include having his named placed on the sex offender registry.
