A Hudson Valley man has been charged with murder following a investigation into the discovery of a dead body in Monticello. 

On Saturday June 3, 2017 around 8:30 a.m., a group of construction workers found a dead white man behind a building at 9 High Street in the Village of Monticello.

The victim was identified as Douglas Malone, 59, of Monticello. He suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds, according to police.

Monticello Police, after a joint investigation with the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office, New York State Police, and Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, arrested Charles A. Curio, of 7 High Street in the Village of Monticello on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Curio was charged with Murder in the second-degree for the Homicide death of 59-year old Douglas Malone.

An autopsy showed Malone died multiple stab wounds.

Curio was arraigned and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail pending further court action.
