The Orange County Child Abuse Unit has arrested an Orange County man following a month long investigation into sexual abuse.

William Pasquale, 26, of Middletown allegedly touched the sexual parts of a female who is under the age of 11 and had the young girl touch his sexual parts. Police say the victim and Pasquale knew each other.

Pasquale has been charged with a class D Felony of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and a Misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The arrest and one month investigation followed a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. The investigation was conducted with the help of the Orange County Department of Social Services - Child Protective Services.

The Orange County Child Abuse Unit, which made the arrest, is comprised of members from the New York State Police, Village of Goshen Police, City of Port Jervis Police and Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Pasquale was arraigned at City of Middletown Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $20,000.00 secured bond. He is due to return in court on Nov. 30. An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
