A Hudson Valley man was arrested for committing a criminal sex act with a child younger than 11 years-old.

Alquran Feldman, 34, of Castkill, recently from Newburgh was charged with 1st-degree criminal sexual act, a class B felony, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and violation of probation.

Following a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline the Orange County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services and Orange County Child Abuse Unit began an investigation to a report that a man committed a criminal sex act of a girl younger than 11-years-old in the City of Newburgh 10 years ago.

Police say their investigation led them name Feldman as the man who committed the alleged crimes. Feldman was located and arrested by State Police in Middletown.

Feldman was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail $150,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Wallkill Court on May 23.

An order of protection was issued.
