A Hudson Valley man is accused of giving a 15-year-old marijuana that was laced with cocaine. The teen then suffered a medical incident.

On Wednesday, Saugerties Police responded to Bennet Avenue in the Village of Saugerties for a report of a 15-year-old who was having a bad reaction after smoking weed, which the teen thought was laced with cocaine.

Dennisse Torres Rodriguez, 23, of Saugerties provided the teenager with the drugs, police say. After the two smoked together, Rodriguez dropped the boy off in the Village of Saugerties.

After he was dropped off, the 15-year-old got sick and an ambulance was called to the scene. Paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance treated the teen at the scene and then transported him to the Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus in Kingston.

On Friday, Rodriguez was arrested by police and charged with criminal sale of marijuana, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Rodriguez was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and released after posting $500 cash bail. An order of protection was issued by the court on behalf of the 15-year-old.
