Considering we're a few weeks away from Halloween, you're going to see a lot of "haunted" happening going on around the Hudson Valley.

Just last week I came across free haunted tours of the New York State Capitol. If that's a little too far of a drive for a little scare, but you're into the historical haunts then look no further. After searching the Hudson Valley tag on Twitter I came across the Haunted History Trails of New York State.

The website gives you the option to search by region and they highlighted the Hudson Valley. From there it breaks it off into counties. Dutchess, Columbia and Orange seem to be the haunted hot spots. It also gives you a brief audio tour of what to expect. The Haunt Trail spots are as follows:

Columbia County
Spook Rock Road
The Vanderbuilt Hotel
The Legends Candlelight Tour

Dutchess
 Miss Fanny's Victorian Party House
Bannerman's Island
Wings Castle

Orange
Laurel Grove Cemetery
Pine Bush Bed and Breakfast

I want to visit some of these places, but want to know if you've been there before? What should I expect? Are these really some of the historic haunts of the Hudson Valley? Let us know on Facebook!
