Two Hudson Valley residents will have a front row seat as the Rockefeller Christmas Tree gets lit tonight in New York.

Albert Asendorf and Nancy Puchalski from Gardiner spent the day being "wined and dined" in New York City. This, according to an interview with Asendorf after it was announced that a Norway Spruce on his front lawn was selected for this year's Christmas tree at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Asendorf told us that one of the perks of donating the tree was that he gets a limo ride down to New York for the arrival of the tree and once again of the tree lighting, with what also sounds like VIP treatment including a tour of the city.

All eyes will be on the lighting this evening, which will locally be televised starting at 7pm on NBC-4. The national broadcast picks up at 8pm and features performances by Sting, James Taylor, Mary J. Blige, Carly Rae Jepsen, Andrea Bocelli and other performers.
