Hudson Valley ‘Cops’ Parody Shows the Goose Patrol in Action

A Hudson Valley firefighter put together a parody of "Cops" after he was told to help with a local goose problem.

Nick Bucher was working for a contractor at an industrial business site in Poughkeepsie back in 2008. Hired to work fire protection, Bucher and his friend, John Dunderdale, were also tasked with the job of eradicating geese from the property, which had become a nuisance.

According to Bucher, he and Dunderdale decided to have fun with the added responsibility, so they came up with the idea of filming a parody of "Cops" where the perpetrators weren't people, but the invasive population of geese.

The entire video was filmed in one night and completely improvised. Bucher says that it was never supposed to be seen by lots of people and was only made for friends and coworkers. But after he and Dunderdale both left the job, the video was posted to YouTube where it started to receive a cult following.

Bucher has even been recognized in public as the guy "from the goose video" and is occasionally asked if a sequel is in the works. The fire fighter says he and his friend have tossed around a few ideas, but never got around to planning anything official.

I don't know about you, but I think it's time for a reboot. I'm sure the geese wouldn't mind.
