A college in the Lower Hudson Valley that Carrie Fisher attended is mourning the loss of the beloved actress.

Actress Carrie Fisher died Tuesday at the age of 60, after suffering a heart attack just before Christmas on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

In the mid-1970s, Fisher attended Sarah Lawrence College in Westchester County. She dropped out of the Hudson Valley college after landing the role of Princess Leia at the age of 19, the Rolling Stone Reports.

“We were sorry to learn of the death of Carrie Fisher, who attended Sarah Lawrence. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and many fans,” the college released in a statement.

Fisher’s daughter confirmed her mother’s death in a statement Tuesday through a family spokesman Simon Halls: “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

Fisher is survived by her mother, Reynolds, 84, and her daughter, Lourd, 24.
