A coffee chain with multiple Hudson Valley locations is going to close 150 locations due to over-saturation.

Bloomberg reported that Starbucks is going to close 150 locations in areas that are over-saturated with Starbucks. The company's growth has not been what executives were hoping for. Starbucks is hoping for a 1% growth at the end of the quarter, which is far less than the 2.9% growth analysts expected. This is Starbucks worst performance in 9 years.

An announcement like this comes on the heels of Starbucks raising coffee prices. The company also closed 800 stores recently for racial-bias training, after 2 black men were arrested for sitting in a Philadelphia Starbucks waiting for a friend.

The Hudson Valley is filled with Starbucks, it would be no surprise if local stores closed. Ironically, a new Starbucks is set to open in Dutchess County.
