Last summer we got the great news that one of our favorite breweries in the Hudson Valley had plans to expand to a second location overlooking the beautiful Catskill Creek.

The Daily Mail is reporting our friends at Crossroads Brewery have finally confirmed construction is underway and they are aiming to open their new brewery this summer. The owners purchased the former Columbia-Greene Media building last June with plans to turn it into a brewery, tasting room and storehouse that will now hold enough beer to allow Crossroads to expand their production.

According to the article, the current storage facility at their Athens location can only hold a mere 900 barrels. The new facility is designed to hold 10,000 barrels and will allow Crossroads to produce more of their delicious brews and expands sales outside of the New York area. Co-owner Ken Landin says the brewmasters plan on expanding to states such as Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Vermont.

Unlike their flagship location in Athens, the new spot in Catskill will not have a restaurant. However Landin says they are looking into alternative options such as a possible partnership with some local food trucks. Owners hope to have the taps flowing in the new tasting room by the Fourth of July holiday.
