It seem that more and more banks here in the Hudson Valley are getting robbed. I think this robbery makes around 10 this year.

According to the Daily Freeman, on Saturday the Empire State Savings Bank at 275 Main St in the village of New Paltz was robbed around 10:50 a.m.

New Paltz Police told the Freeman, that a male suspect “walked into the bank, threatened the use of a firearm and demanded money.” The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash and was last seen walking in the direction of Henry W. DuBois Drive in the village.

Police did not disclose a description of the suspect.

The robbery started a massive manhunt in the community. New Paltz police set up a roadblock near the New Paltz Thruway exit, but by early afternoon it had been discontinued.

Police said the investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the New Paltz Police Department at (845) 255-1323.
