Students across the Hudson Valley are returning to school and those commuting to one local community college are met with construction on a brand new traffic circle.

If you've ever driven down Creek Road toward the Salt Point Turnpike just as classes are getting out, you know you're in for quite the wait. The new traffic pattern should help alleviate the problem.

A 2015 article from HVNN states the job was originally approved in 2000 but funding was lost after disagreements held up the project. Fast forward to January of this year and the City of Poughkeepsie opened up the sealed bidding process. Just over eight months later, the project is nearly completed.

Similar traffic circles have gone in in recent years in the Arlington District of Poughkeepsie as well as on Route 55 near Arlington High School. Do you think the problem will get better or worse? Either way, getting rid of that old run down gas station is a visual upgrade.
