If you didn't already pre-order Nintendo's new console that's being released today, you still may be able to grab one.

The Switch is the highly anticipated new gaming console from Nintendo. After a failed roll-out of the Wii U, the video game company is hoping to attract customers with their innovate system that allows gamers to play at home, and then bring the portable console with them and play on the go.

Midnight sales drew excited gamers to stores, hoping to be one of the first to get their hands on the Nintendo Switch, but many were fearful that unless they pre-ordered the system they would be left out in the cold.

Fears of not being able to purchase a Nintendo Switch stem from the company's inability to keep up with holiday demand for the Nintendo Classic. The retro gaming console was more popular than anyone predicted, quickly selling out everywhere.

Nintendo promises that there won't be the same problem with the Switch. The $299 portable console will be available in limited quantities at stores like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Gamestop and Toys R Us. If you didn't pre-order and find out the store is sold out, it's still not the end of the world. Nintendo has promised to produce over two million units to make sure there is not a supply issue.
