What started as an annual party in a home has gotten bigger and better this year, and it's all for a great cause. Candlelighters NYC is an organization dedicated to helping families get through the difficult times when a child is diagnosed with and being treated for cancer.

Each year Catherine Ackert would host a holiday party in her home asking guests to help bring smiles to those children and their families. This year, with a little help from her friends, Catherine is expanding the party and inviting the public to join in helping this great cause.

Save the date, Dec. 8, from 6 pm - 11:30 pm at the newly renovated banquet room at the VFW on 30 Elizabeth Street in Red Hook. There will be live music, awesome local food, raffles items and 50/50, and a cash bar. It will be a night of celebrating life, children and the spirit of the season. All money will be donated directly to Candlelighters NYC, so they can purchase gift cards for the families to enjoy on Christmas morning.

There is a suggested minimum donation of $30.00 or 50.00 a couple  which includes entry, food, live music and prizes. For more information, or to find out how to make a donation, visit their facebook page.
