A Marlboro man was caught burglarizing a home in Highland. 

Lloyd Police responded to a 911 report of a burglary in progress at a residence in Highland.

The homeowner reported coming home and finding a car in his driveway, and a subject coming out of his garage and placing property into his car. The home owner then called 911.

Lloyd Police arrived within minutes and placed the subject into custody without incident. The stolen property was recovered at the scene, according to a press release.

Ernest H. Greiner, 46, of Marlboro was arrested and charged with Burglary, second-degree, a felony, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument.

Greiner was arraigned in the Town of Lloyd Court and remanded to Ulster County jail without bail.

He is due back in court early next week.
