Here’s How the 2017 March Madness Brackets Shape Up

The committee has made their selection and now we're ready for some basketball.

Defending champs Villanova bring a 31-3 record, as well as a Big East tournament title win, back to the Big Dance and were named as the No. 1 seed in the East Region. Duke (27-8) was named as the No. 2 seed after wrapping up the the ACC conference championship.

Last year's runners up, North Carolina (27-7) was named No 1 in the South Region. Kansas (28-4) represents the Midwest, and Gonzaga (32-1) is No 1 in the West.

The closest to any sort of Hudson Valley representation is New Rochelle's  Iona, who were named the Number 14 seed in the Midwest. They will face No. 3 Oregon this Thursday in Sacramento.

Troy has the tough task of facing Duke in the East region as the No 15 seed.

One Final four team not invited back was Syracuse. The Orangemen lost five out of their last seven games, and finished with a 18-14 record.
