First it was snow and cold, now rain.

The first full week of April started out bitterly cold in the Hudson Valley. And while temperatures over the next twenty four hours are expected to feel a little more springlike, forecasters are calling for heavy rainfall across the region.

Temperatures aren't expected to drop too much overnight. The low should reach about 40 F, with temperatures actually increasing after midnight with a steady wind coming from the south.

Then the rain comes.

Meteorologists say that showers will move into the area after midnight, with a heavier rain by late Thursday morning. Heavy downpours could impact the region by Thursday afternoon.

Unfortunately, it looks like the winter like cold isn't done just yet. Near record low temperatures are forecast for Saturday and Sunday nights.
