I can't help thinking how rude it would be to start a conversation with someone while I'm having one with someone else.  But, it happens all the time.  The only thing missing is the sound of the other voices.

I'm talking about texting.  I will be mid conversation, and the other person will look at down, and start typing.  As if I can't even see what's going on.  Has this become acceptable behavior?  Call me old fashioned, but I think it's rude.

And how about at work?  Remember when workplaces had "no personal phone call" rules?  I see people texting constantly at work, and I'm pretty sure it's not all inter-office texting.  You probably couldn't even enforce a no personal texting rule.

Maybe things have changed, and rules have relaxed, but if you're talking to me and you start texting, I'm going to think you're rude...but I'll be too polite to tell you.
