Actor Harrison Ford was hospitalized on Thursday afternoon, after a single-engine plane he was piloting crashed onto a golf course shortly after take off. 

Ford, a longtime pilot was flying a vintage World War 2 training plane.

Ford sustained lacerations and possible bone fractures that were described as serious. Originally listed in critical condition, but is now described as serious, but stable.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this point.

The plane crashed on the golf course just west of the airport shortly after takeoff from the Santa Monica Airport, reported by NBC.
