Happy Birthday, WPDH!

It was 39 years ago today that WPDH became the Home of Rock and Roll. I still remember the day...June 1, 1976. It was warm and sunny. Tommy Webster picked me up in his red Ford Falcon. I think it was a 1965 Falcon, but he says it was a 66. Either way, he picked me up and told me there was a new radio station that played great music, and it was right out of Poughkeepsie.

From that day on, WPDH became my official station to listen to. I never dreamed I would get a job there. And I certainly never thought I'd spend a good chunk of my adult life working there. But I did. Four years in the early '80s, and back again from 1995 til now. That's a total of 24 years. Yikes!

So here we are, almost 40 years later, still The Home of Rock and Roll. And my home away from home for sure. Happy Birthday, WPDH, it's been a great run...and we couldn't have done it without our loyal listeners.  Here's to many more great years!
