Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to Us, Happy Birthday Dear Us, Happy Birthday to Us! It was 41 years ago today that WPDH came on the air as a rock and roll station, and I still remember the day.

I know I have told this story before. Every year for many years, but here it comes again. It was June 1, 1976. It was warm and sunny. Tommy Webster picked me up in his red Ford Falcon. I think it was a 1965 Falcon, but he says it was a 66. Either way, he picked me up and told me there was a new radio station that played great music, and it was right out of Poughkeepsie.

I started here at WPDH in the news department. Shortly after that I moved over to the music side of things. In total it was four or five years in the early 1980s, and back again from 1995 til now. That’s almost 30 years. That's a longer relationship than I have had with anybody that's not family. Even my boyfriend Bobby, and we've been together almost 26 years.

So, thank you WPDH. Not only for employee me for most of my adult life, but for supplying the Hudson Valley with great rock and roll for 41 years. And thank you to all of the WPDH listeners for your loyalty, your friendship, and your continued love of rock and roll.
