If you, or someone you know, has been commuting on an Ulster County Area Transit bus to and from classes on SUNY campuses, you're about to get a break in the new year.

Ulster County Executive Mike Hein has announced a commuting student discount on UCAT buses starting in 2016. All any student needs to do is show their SUNY Ulster student ID and they will receive a 50% discount for their ride to or from any SUNY Ulster campus, including the main campus in Stone Ridge, the new Kingston Center or the Business Resource Center. Plus, students will also be able to know exactly how long until their bus arrives and its current location thanks to the new smartphone app which was unveiled earlier this year.

The discounted student fares will begin January 1, 2016 and the smartphone app is available free of charge for either Apple or Android operating systems by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play and searching ‘UCAT’.
