Eli Manning has started every game since November 21. 2004.

New York Giants Head Coach Ben McAdoo announced Tuesday that Geno Smith will start in place of Eli Manning on Sunday when the Giants face the Raiders in Oakland.

Rookie Davis Webb will also play, if not this week, then sometime before the end of the season.

Manning has started 210 consecutive regular-season games, the second longest streak by a QB in NFL history, behind Brett Farve's 297.

Manning was given the option to start to keep the streak going, but declined.

According to the New York Giants website, Eli Manning said:

I have said it many times, I want to play, I want to compete, I want to be out there for my teammates to help them prepare to win. I understand that there are tough decisions that have to be made in the best interest of the organization, especially as a season like this winds down. This is one of those tough, uncomfortable decisions

Geno Smith joined the Giants in March as a free agent, following four years with the New York Jets.
