Warning: A four-ton potato is headed towards the Hudson Valley.

A year ago, the Hudson Valley was whipped into a frenzy when the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile was spotted on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. We can only imagine what will happen when the potato truck comes to town.

The Idaho Potato Commission has created an enormous potato to help promote the health benefits of Idaho's famous export. The Potato Truck has been traveling throughout the United States, stopping at various fairs and expos to spread the word about potatoes.

It was just announced that the Potato Truck will be making it's way to the Hudson Valley this summer. Talk about a photo op!

If you want to make plans to see this enormous potato in person, you should mark April 18 on your calendar. That's when the potato will be stopping at Rockland Community College. They'll be there to help support the Live On New York donor drive and, of course, pass out information about potatoes.

If that date doesn't work for you, the truck will be making another stop in Saratoga Springs on July 15 at the annual potato chip festival. Here's hoping the giant spud survives without getting sliced into a giant chip.

You can check out the Potato Truck's full schedule on their official website.
