I have found it feels good, or at least therapeutic to talk about the house fire we just went through. This is part three. Once you get past the shock of the fire, after you have thanked the Good Lord for your survival and the survival of those you love, there is the paper work. And the clean up. And a list of people you are supposed to contact. Insurance, plumber, electrician, builder, architect. I did not have a clue where to begin.

I am happy I began by calling Servpro in Pleasant Valley. They came highly recommended. They used to have an office next to my friends Glenn and Cathie at Hudson Valley Skin Care. They helped my friend Sharyn's neighbor through a fire. My insurance adjuster liked them. So I called. Lisa Ann and Scott and their staff did everything for me. The plumber, the electrician, etc. One call for me, and they took over. What a blessing. I've already become friends with Lisa Ann, and I believe she's part therapist. She is for me, anyway. And she's been great to Bobby, and he doesn't usually like anybody.

We've been spending hours a day everyday with these folks. They are compassionate, respectful, and even in a bad situation, they are fun to be around. Exactly what we need during this time. Thanks, Servpro. And everyday I want to thank my great circle of friends. Kenny and Sharyn for the toaster oven, Cathie and Glenn for the laptop, Dan for the winter clothes, Kevin and Lisa for the dog house and support. We love you guys. Tomorrow's blog will address the massive cleanup. Thanks for letting me vent.
