To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, all local parks will be offering free admission for the entire week.

April 16 through April 24 is National Park Week, with no admission charge at more than 400 parks across the country. According to the National Park Service, some of the local parks include the FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt historic sites in Hyde Park, The Martin Van Buren National Site, Vanderbilt Mansion, Saratoga National Historic Park, The Ellis Island National Monument and Statue of Liberty.

A full list of National Parks is available online with information on special activities that will also be taking place all week.

National Junior Ranger Day happens on Saturday, April 16 where kids can take part in fun programs and earn a junior ranger badge or become a Centennial Junior Ranger. There will also be Earth Day programs and activities on April 22 and social "InstaMeets" planned for the weekend of April 23.

Will you be taking advantage of the free admission during National Park Week? We'd love to know where you'll be exploring.
