Stone Ridge -  Timing is everything.

The Saugerties boys basketball team is playing its best basketball, at the best time.  Starting the season off strong, Saugerties looked to be an early season favorite. Then the team struggled through the middle of the season, only to ramp it up at the most important time of the year, the post season.

The Sawyers used impressive runs, rebounding, free throws, and flat out field goal scoring to win its second consecutive MHAL championship with a 65-54 win over Spackenkill at SUNY Ulster Thursday night.

Darnell Edge led Saugerties with 24 points and took matters into his own hands when the team trailed 7-0 at the onset.  Justin Etts scored 26 for Spackenkill.
Sectional play begins Saturday.
