WICCOPEE - Arlington and Wappingers lacrosse has always provided some great matches over the years and has developed into a good rivalry. Consider, two of the largest school districts in all of the Hudson Valley; Arlington with 3000+ students and Wappingers that combines student athletes from both Ketcham and John Jay high schools to make up its lacrosse team. Add to that the fact that both programs were accepted by Secion 1 as a Varsity sport at the same time and there has always been a "who's better" mentality between the two programs.

This first meeting of this season, the contest was close throughout the first three quarters. The Admirals and Warriors were tied at 2 to end the first quarter; then tied again at 3, at 4, and at 5.

It wasn’t until late in the 3rd quarter that Arlington was able to separate themselves from the younger Wappingers team by going on a three goal run leading Arlington to a 9-6 victory. Kevin Litchauer scored four goals for Arlington and teammate Brendan Sunday finished with a hat trick. James Pratt scored twice for the Warriors.
