Funeral Services Announced for Fallen Poughkeepsie Firefighter

Timothy Gunther tragically suffered a cardiac arrest while fighting a fire on Church Street in Poughkeepsie this week. Funeral services have been set for Monday. 

Calling hours will be Saturday at McHoul Funeral Home on Route 82 in Hopewell Junction from 2-7pm. While the funeral will take place on Monday at 10:30 at the Mid Hudson Civic Center will full honors.

Due to the large number of people expected, Townsquare Media of the Hudson Valley and Ballentine Communications will be providing an outdoor public address system at the Mid Hudson Civic Center. Once the Civic Center is filled to capacity, people will be able to hear the service outdoors.

Areas of Main and Market Street are expected to be closed to accommodate services. A crowd of more than 5,000 are expected to pay their respects to firefighter Gunther.
