It's getting cold again.

Sunday was actually pretty mild, with temperatures climbing to just above 50 degrees. This was able to melt off some of Saturday's snowfall across the area.

The warmup didn't last for long however.

Monday will see highs only in the 20s with nighttime temperatures falling down to the single digits again. One good however, is unlike last week, the winds should be fairly calm. This will prevent the dangerously cold winds chills the region had to endure less than week back.

From there, the temperatures will moderate again as we approach the first official day of winter.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bring partly cloudy skies, with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.across the Hudson Valley.

By Thursday, highs should be in the 40s, which is actually slightly above average for this time of year.

Planning for Christmas? Weekend temperatures should be remain in the 40s, with a mixture of sun and clouds.

The next chance for precipitation will be by Sunday night into Monday, where there will be a slight chance for either rain or snow showers.

So what are the chances of a White Christmas in the Hudson Valley. Right now, not too great. It should remain clear most of the weekend according to some of the forecasts.

Of course, it's too ealry to tell at this point.
