Friday, August 28: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Aug. 28) to Dave Hlubek. The lead guitarist and founding member of Molly Hatchet is 64. Also celebrating today is frontman Steve Whiteman of 80's rock band Kix (59).

Dave Hlubek founded Molly Hatchet with Steve Holland. Hlubek was the original singer when the band started, and Danny Joe Brown was brought in to handle lead vocals. He was also became the band's main songwriter, writing and co-writing most of the group's songs including their biggest hit 'Flirting With Disaster'.

Molly Hatchet still continue to tour regularly, and a new album is reportedly expected in 2015. Check out the official Molly Hatchet site here for news and tour dates.
