Happy Birthday today (Aug. 24) to Heart drummer Michael Derosier. He's 67. Other rockers celebrating include singer John Bush (Armored Saint, Anthrax) who's and 55 drummer Jim Fox from The James Gang (71). In remembrance today, Molly Hatchet’s Danny Joe Brown who would have been 68.

A founding member of Heart, Michael Derosier's work can be heard on classic Heart albums like Dreamboat AnnieLittle QueenMagazineDog and Butterfly, and Bebe le Strange. He now plays in a band called Heart By Heart that pays tribute to the music he created with the band back in the day. In the band Heart By Heart, Derosier is joined by original Heart bassist Fossen. Derosier’s work is featured on Heart classics “Barracuda”, “Straight On” and many others. Cheers to Michael Derosier on his birthday today!

Heart have sold over 35 million records worldwide to date, and are one of the most commercially successful hard rock bands in history, The were voted number 57 on VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. At the induction ceremony, the original lineup of Heart reunited for the first time in 34 years to perform “Crazy on You”. See video below.
