French Fries of the Hudson Valley

I know this is horrible, but French Fries might be my favorite food in the whole world.

There are so many places to choose from. Of course, there are your typical fast food spots where you can get delicious fries, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and so on and so forth. Don't get me wrong, they're all great but we have local Hudson Valley restaurants and diners who have amazing french fries.

However, the website Delish (yes, it's one of those sites that has 30 second videos of easy recipes) released a list of "The French Fries Everyone Is Talking About in Your State."  Their choice for New York? Shake Shack.

I have a huge problem with this. While Shake Shack has some of the most delicious burgers, their fries are seriously lacking. They're the accordion looking fries and not seasoned at all. Yuck.

There are so many better options in the Hudson Valley. For example:

Schatzi's- Poughkeepsie/New Paltz

They have specialty fries and their original bar fries. The fries are topped with a grated cheese and my mouth is currently watering thinking about them.

Palace Diner- Poughkeepsie

The Palace diner is actually one of my favorite places to eat in the Hudson Valley. Mostly because of their fries and their options. Sweet Potato, regular, curly and I think they even have waffle fries. Either way and whatever choice you make.. they always come through.

I realize my options are mostly Dutchess County based. So give me some other options out there in Sullivan, Ulster and Orange. Let us know on Facebook.
