Today (Aug. 11) we remember former Warrant frontman Jani Lane. He died of acute alcohol poisoning at the age of 47 on this day back in 2011. Warrant had their most success from 1989-1996 with album sales of over 10 million wordwide. Lane left warrant in 2004 initially, and rejoined the band for a brief reunion, leaving once again in 2008.

A publice memorial concert was held for Lane on Aug. 29, 2011 at the Key Club in Hollywood featuring performances from fellow rockers Great White, Quiet Riot, and L.A. Guns.

Warrant had the most success with their first two albums. Their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich featured the hit single 'Heaven'. The album went douple platinum. They followed that up with the hit album Cherry Pie in 1990 which also went double platinum. In addition to his wor=k with Warrant, Jani Lane also had a solo career. R.I.P. Jani Lane
