Bernie Williams hasn't played in the Majors since 2006. He spent sixteen years with the Yankees, was a five time MLB All-Star, and helped lead the team to four World Series titles. While he hasn't played for the Yankees in ten years, he didn't officially retire until 2015.

But it's pretty well known that music is Bernie's second love. And this Friday, he'll receive his bachelor's from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music.

The Ny Daily News reports that Williams will graduate with a bachelor's in jazz composition

Williams released his first album, The Journey Within, in 2003. His second album, Moving Forward, came out in 2009. Moving Forward was even nominated for the Best Instrumental Album in the 2009 Latin Grammys.

In spite of his celebrity status, Williams has been described by classmates, many of which are less than half his age, as just a regular guy. Williams has maintained a relatively low profile in his three years at MSM. This doesn't mean he hasn't had to face the pressure and stress of being a student like everyone else.

Williams said that playing in front of a professor and a class can almost be as nerve-wracking as facing Randy Johnson on the mound.

Williams says once he graduates he plans on working on another record and wants to tour the world with his band.
