Only in Florida....A Pinellas Park man died on Tuesday morning after acidentally shooting himself in the face during a dispute with his wife.

Police responded to a call early Tuesday morning, and found 57-year old Dennis Eugene Emery with facial injuries that were consistent with a gunshot wound.

According to Police, Emery was pronounce dead at the scene.

Emery was having a dispute with his wife, when he decided to grab a gun and threaten to shoot one of their dogs.

According to Police, Emery pulled the gun's hammer back as if he were going to fire it, and as he released it to a safe position, the gun discharged as it was pointed at his face.

Since 2012, Emery has had 34 contacts with Police, including 3 arrests in a 5-day period on charges including: Aggravated assault, domestic battery, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of a crash.
