The fate of Jason Pierre-Paul remains uncertain after a July 4 fireworks accident. The NY Daily News obtained exclusive photos showing the Giants defensive end for the first time without a bandage, and the results do not look good.

Pierre-Pauls' knuckle can be seen protruding from where his right index finger used to be, with bandages on his thumb and middle finger.

Pierre-Paul initially hid his injuries from the Giants organization, even going so far as keeping the team away from the Florida hospital where he was recuperating. The 26 year-old needed to have the index finger on his right hand amputated. He also suffered a fractured thumb and needed skin grafts.

After news broke this week that a portion of his thumb was also lost, JPP shared a video on his Instagram showing himself working out. The clip did not offer a close-up on his mangled hand however.

Pierre-Paul remains unsigned by the Giants. He did not sign the team’s $14.813 million tender offer in the offseason.
