A panic attack led to a woman being stranded on Storm King Mountain, prompting Cornwall firefighters had to intervene says the Times Herald Record.

Cornwall fire Chief Patrick Hines said the call for help came about 6:45 p.m, Sunday evening. When firefighters arrived at the site along Route 218, they encountered a male friend who had been hiking with the woman. The male hiker pointed firefighters to her location, which was about 200 feet below the highway on the mountain.

Two of the firefighters rappelled down the mountain to secure the woman, and then placed her in a basket and lifted her up to Route 218. The woman refused medical treatment, according to The Times Herald Record report. The two hikers were turned over to state park police but it wasn't clear if they'd face any charges.
