The FDA has approved flibanserin, a pill which has been dubbed 'female viagra'.

There are close to 30 different drugs out there that treat the forms of sexual dysfunction in men. Women on the other hand do not have that many options. Women haven't had one drug to tackle those specific issues, as reported by Yahoo.

The drug, which will be sold under the brand name Addyi, is known generically as flibanserin. The drug has the potential to affect millions of women who suffer from hypoactive sexual desire disorder.

The drug changes how brain cells respond to various message carrying chemicals called neurotransmitters, with the aim of changing a woman's sexual desire over time, as reported by NBC News.
