Father Allegedly Chokes Man Who Was Fighting With his Daughter at Area Gym

Don't mess with this man's daughter.

NBC NY is reporting that a fight over a game of basketball at a gym in Nanuet lead to one man being chocked unconsciousness.

Police say 54-year-old Joseph Biggs was arrested after allegedly choking another man who had a fight with his daughter during the basketball game.

Police say that Biggs arrived at 24 Hour Fitness in Nanuet after his 24-year-old daughter had gotten into a shoving match with a 27-year-old man over something that apparently happened on the basketball court.. The nature of the dispute or who may have instigated it, is not known.

Biggs allegedly choked the younger man until he blacked out. The man regained consciousness and refused additional medical attention.

Biggs was taken into custody and charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony. He was arraigned in Clarkstown and released on his own recognizance.
