Do you shower once a day? Dermatologists say that's not healthy. We're curious how you feel about this.

Naya Rivera, an actress from Glee, caught lots of criticism this week after her appearance on the View. During the show she declared that certain people, specifically "white people," shower too much. The comment solicited groans from the audience and upset some of the panel. Here's her direct quote:

I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnic. I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing.

Her comments may have been controversial, but dermatologists are now saying that Rivera may have a point. Dr. Joshua Zeichner, an assistant professor of dermatology in New York City, was quoted by CentricTV as saying that daily "over-bathing" is an American cultural thing. Zeichner claims that taking too many showers can "dry out and irritate skin, wash away the good bacteria that naturally exists on your skin, and introduce small cracks that put you at a higher risk of infection."

That's all well and good, but... yuck! Am I right? Well, the dermatologists agree that some parts of your body do need to be cleaned every day including your face and rear-end.

Naya Rivera claims to only bathe 3 times a week, while criticizing her husband for sometimes bathing multiple times a day. But to be fair to him, if I was touching someone who hasn't bathed in a couple of days I'd probably want to jump in the shower too...

We want to know what you think about all of this. Do you bathe every day? Only a few times a week? Take our poll below so we can find out how often the Hudson Valley gets clean.
