However, this GoPro somehow survived the plunge into a lava flow and offers an eerie glimpse into the slow moving but deadly natural wonder.

The NY Post says that a tour guide named Erik Storm was leading a group of tourists and nature enthusiasts around the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii when he stuck his GoPro down in a crack near a lava flow.

The lava ending up moving in and engulfing the GoPro before Storm could do anything. Miraculously, Storm was able to pull it out of the molten rock with a hammer and was able to get the footage from the GoPro's SD card.
