Additional Information

Join Jennifer Miano, FNP, Family Nurse Practitioner and Mary Richard, RN, Public Health Advisor from the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health Communicable Disease Control Division for a community Narcan training event.

More than 1,600 residents in Dutchess County have been trained to use Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal medication, through the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office. As part of the training, participants receive a naloxone kit. If you have an expired kit, you can bring it with you and get an updated one.

Narcan is a prescription medicine that blocks the effects of opioids and reverses an overdose. If given to a person who has not taken opioids, it will not have any effect on him or her, since there is no opioid overdose to reverse.

The Department of Behavioral & Community Health offers a wide array of services and programs to become a Healthy Dutchess for our Residents, Visitors, and Businesses in Dutchess County.

Space is limited to 25 people. Contact the library to register: (845) 757-3771, tivoliprograms@gmail.com, or stop by the library.

The event is free and happens in the East Room.
